The Xstrata Greek Fest - To Xstrata Greek Φεστιβάλ
The Xstrata Greek Fest will be a successful event in the cultural calendar for 2009. It aims to provide a unique opportunity for North Queenslanders and visitors to North Queensland, Australia, a chance to embrace both Greek and Australian cultures over a weekend of non‐stop entertainment, wonderful cuisine, music and dance. The 2009 Xstrata Greek Fest will bring a great deal of fun and excitement for the 35, 000 people who attend, with grape‐stomping and olive spitting competitions, great children’s entertainment, Greek cooking demonstrations and the Agora (marketplace). It is 150 years of Queensland, becoming a state and we will be celebrating the contributions that Greeks and Cypriots have made to North Queensland, Australia, during this time with a photographic exhibition. The festival will be staged at the Riverway precinct, bordered by the Ross River and Riverway lagoons.

Το Xstrata Greek Fest διοργανώνεται στις 10 και 11 Οκτωβρίου 2009 στο North Queensland , στην Αυστραλία και θα αποτελέσει σίγουρα ένα επιτυχημένο event στο πολιτιστικό ημερολόγιο του 2009. Στοχεύει στο να δώσει μια μοναδική ευκαιρία στους κατοίκους του North Queensland και στους επισκέπτες του, να αγκαλιάσουν και την Ελληνική και την Αυστραλιανή κουλτούρα σε ένα σαββατοκύριακο με ατέλειωτη διασκέδαση υπέροχη κουζίνα μουσική και χορό. Το Xstrata Greek Fest θα φέρει πολλή διασκέδαση και ενθουσιασμό στους 35000 περίπου επισκέπτες του, με διαγωνισμό πατήματος σταφυλιών και άλλους, με μεγάλη διασκέδαση για τα παιδιά, με επίδειξη ελληνικής μαγειρικής και με την Αγορά του. Εδώ και 150 χρόνια το North Queensland έχει γίνει πολιτεία και θα γιορταστεί η συνεισφορά των Ελλήνων και Κυπρίων στο North Queensland σε όλη αυτή την περίοδο, με μια σχετική φωτογραφική έκθεση.
