Roman Market of Thessaloniki
The Roman Market of Thessaloniki is a project dating to the 2nd-3rd century. AD and its gallery was double, consisting of columns decorated with relief scenes, that nowadays are kept in the Museum of Louvre. Today the Roman Lodge is often used as exhibition space. The Conservatory of Roman Market is used as a summer theater also. Do not miss a visit to the Square and the Baths. In the Roman Market had been the “enchanted” of the eight figurines: Maenad, Dionysos, Ariadne, Leda, Ganymede, Dioscuri, Aura and Nike, which are now in the Museum of Louvre.
Η Ρωμαϊκή Αγορά της Θεσσαλονίκης είναι έργο που χρονολογείται τον 2ο-3ο αι. μΧ και η στοά της ήταν διπλή, αποτελούμενη από κίονες που έφεραν ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις και που στις μέρες μας φυλάσσονται στο μουσείο του Λούβρου. Σήμερα η Ρωμαϊκή Στοά χρησιμοποιείται συχνά και ως εκθεσιακός χώρος. Το Ωδείο της Ρωμαϊκής Αγοράς χρησιμοποιείται και ως θερινό θέατρο. Επιβάλλεται να δείτε από κοντά την Πλατεία, καθώς και τα Λουτρά. Στη Ρωμαϊκή Αγορά υπήρχαν οι «Μαγεμένες», δηλαδή τα οκτώ ειδώλια των: Μαινάδας, Διόνυσου, Αριάδνης, Λήδας, Γανυμήδη, Διόσκουρου, Αύρας και Νίκης, τα οποία σήμερα βρίσκονται στο μουσείο του Λούβρου.
