Kamares, Kavala
Kamares in the city of Kavala is what they call the medieval water supply reservoir, which is one of the most photographed and well known areas of the town. This water supply reservoir was built in the Byzantine Era. The arches (that is what Kamares means in Greek) were helping to the transfer of water from the mountain top springs. The monument is 280 meters long, 25 meters at its highest point and 60 arches in total of four different sizes.
Οι Καμάρες στην Καβάλα, το Μεσαιωνικό Υδραγωγείο, είναι ίσως μια από τις πιο πολυφωτογραφημένες γωνιές της πόλης. Το έργο κατασκευάστηκε κατά τη βυζαντινή περίοδο. Η τοξωτή αυτή κατασκευή χρησίμευε για τη μεταφορά του νερού από τις πηγές των βουνών. Το μνημείο έχει μήκος 280 μέτρων, το μεγαλύτερο ύψος του είναι 25 μέτρα και αποτελείται από 60 αψίδες που έχουν τέσσερα διαφορετικά μεγέθη!
